You are finally here. After 39 weeks in my belly, I can finally meet you for the first time. Although the delivery was not as smooth as I wanted to be, and you have to spend two days in the nursery hooked up in IV and oxygen, you are the healthy sweet baby girl that I have always imagined.

On the morning of September 26, I felt a fever. I called my OB/GYN immediately and she told me to go to the hospital to get checked and she would meet me there. When I got to the hospital and changed to the gown, the nurse noticed that I am already bleeding. I started feeling the contractions being very frequent and stronger by the minute. The nurse started getting me settled on the bed, starting an IV. More and more medical staff showed up in the room. They said my water was probably broken 2 days ago and that I was having an infection. I was so freaked out when I found out that I didn't have time for an epidural. Luckily, baby really wanted to come out and quick. I think I only pushed 5 times and baby was out. Phew! I am now a mother of two!

I only get to take one quick glimse of Alexis and the Pediatrician had to work on her. We quickly learned that baby's heart rate was elevated and flat due to the infection. Baby also had trouble breathing on her own. She looked pale. The good thing is her cry was loud and strong. She was immdiately taken to the nursery. They took an x-ray of her chest and found some shadow in her little lungs. She may have breathed in some meconium when she was still in my belly. She was hooked up with an IV and oxygen was given to her. Mama was missing her so much but I was too weak to get up to see her. I was still having a fever and my blood pressure too low to stand up and walk.

Luckily, Lexi was doing so well that she was discharged after two nights. I have to stay an extra day to make sure that I have no more fever. We get to go home on Thursday September 29. Ricky spend the 4 days with me and my in-laws made sure that I had nutrious meals at the hospital. My parents and my brother visited me as well. My friend Matthew and Sindy also paid us a visit. I am so blessed to have such loving family and friends.
